In this first section of Change Nowadays Books, I will be talking about main characters.

Girls: Please stop being so awesome! That might sound odd, but if you look at the books that are written today, almost none of the girls need anything.
As much as I love The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Water Princess Fire Prince by Kendra E, Ardnek, their main characters Katniss and Clara are better at everything than Peeta and Andrew. They don't need them, the men need the women.

The Ilyon Chronicles by Jaye L. Knight has the main character Kyrin. Throughout the books written so far, Kyrin needs her brother, several royal guards, and her friend Jace to protect her. I think Ms. Jaye had written a likable character.

Please comment and tell me what you think about the subject.

(On the left, Katniss, on the right, Clara, both from Pinterest and Clara isn't really this girl.)

New still of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in Mockingjay Part 2: Clara (Anna Sophia Robb):

  1. AHHH I love the Ilyon Chronicles! Even though girls can be tough, they still need help, and that's why I love Kyrin so much. Especially that scene with Daniel -- proof that she isn't perfect.

  2. Yes! Almost every book's MCs are perfect! But Kyrin and the rest are human!
